Different Types of Restaurant Signs
Restaurants are far more successful when they effectively use signage to entice potential customers into their locations. Before they see or smell the food, customers are exposed to signage, so it’s absolutely imperative that the right signs are used to bring people in the doors. Signage is not only used as outdoor advertising for your restaurant, but it’s also necessary for regulatory signs, including handwashing signage, store hours, restroom signs, and other indoor restaurant signs. Having signs inside your restaurant benefits both customer and employee alike. There are a variety of signs that are needed in a restaurant to allow daily operations to run smoothly, as well as fulfill any state health code regulations that require certain signage. When planning on signs to display in your restaurant, it’s important to consider how you can help customers navigate the facility, while also providing enticing visual signage to help sell your food and services!
- Wait to be seated. Whenever someone enters your restaurant for the first time, they may be unaware as to whether to seat themselves or wait. Having this sign is a formal and helpful way of letting your clientele understand whether to wait or not.
- Order your food at the bar. This sign will depend on the way in which you serve your customers but is great for cutting down on waitressing demand. A beautiful bright sign above the bar and when you walk in quickly helps make your customers aware of your system of ordering.
- Restroom & directional signs. As well as a toilet signs above the doors, you may also want direction arrows scattered throughout the restaurant. How many you need will depend on the size of your dining area and facilities.
- Opening times. Outside your restaurant, a sign with your opening hours is a practical marketing tool to help make patrons aware of what times to come by your eatery.
- Street signs. If your restaurant entrance is awkward to find or if you want to attract more visitors, street signs are useful for letting people know where you are.
- Special themed nights. Hosting themed nights is a great way to bring in new customers and keep your restaurant exciting. Of course, signs will be necessary for making people aware and getting in plenty of patrons for those nights.
- Theme Night Signs. Other restaurants will theme certain nights to bring in extra trade during quiet times. Advertising these is always a good idea and a sign for your Monday curry night or Chinese buffet may well bring in extra trade during these periods.
